Description:
Oxytocin is a hormonal medication used in veterinary medicine to stimulate uterine contractions and milk secretion in animals. It is particularly indicated in cases of dystocia (difficult birth), retained placenta expulsion, and for lactation stimulation under certain conditions.
Indications:
- Stimulates uterine contractions to facilitate birth.
- Assists in the expulsion of retained placenta.
- Enhances milk let-down.
- Reduces postpartum hemorrhages.
Composition:
- Oxytocin: 10 IU/ml
Administration:
Administer subcutaneously, intramuscularly, or intravenously as directed by a veterinarian, depending on the species and treatment objective.
Precautions:
